Woman suffers burns in Burlington kitchen fire
Burlington firefighters made a quick knock-down of a kitchen fire May 15 that left a woman with burns to her one of her hands.
The fire broke out around 6:45 p.m. Friday evening on Headon Forest Drive, in the Walkers Line and Dundas area.
Firefighters encountered smoke showing from the front door when crews arrived and went into quick attack mode to douse the blaze.
Paramedics assessed a female for burns to one of her hands as a firefighter cared for her two dogs, which were not injured in the fire.
Halton Police closed a section of Headon Forest Drive in front the townhouse complex due to the number of emergency vehicles blocking the roadway.
Fire officials estimate damage at $50,000 and are looking at cooking as the cause of the fire.
