"Today" host Al Roker isn't letting a location change stop him from delivering the weather.
Roker and Craig Melvin were absent from NBC's morning show Monday after an employee who works on the show tested positive for the coronavirus, host Savannah Guthrie announced.Roker returned to the air Tuesday, giving the weather report while standing next to a computer set up in his kitchen.
"I didn't have to commute in, so I did sleep in," Roker told Guthrie and host Hoda Kotb. "Want to make sure there are no NBC News crews here. This is my iPad (filming) … and we've kind of jerry-rigged this system, and I've got all my graphics and everything I need."
And though some who are working from home amid the coronavirus precautions might opt for more casual attire, Roker jokingly confirmed he was indeed wearing pants below his blue button-down shirt.
On Monday, Guthrie and Kotb had assured viewers that Roker and Melvin, hosts of "Today"s third hour, were doing well and that they were just aiming to be as cautious as possible.
"On a personal note for this show, last night we learned that a colleague of ours on the third hour of 'Today' has tested positive for COVID-19, the novel coronavirus," Guthrie told viewers. "So out of an abundance of caution, Craig and Al have taken the morning off so we can trace their contacts and see what's going on with them. We promise to keep you posted. Both are fine right now. They feel good."
"Yeah, we're just trying to play exactly by the rules, and we hope and wish that they come back soon," Kotb said.

Melvin tweeted Monday morning that he was "feeling great" and "thinking about our friend and colleague" who tested positive.
"Thinking about everyone grappling with this right now," he wrote. "I'll be fine. So will we."
Roker concurred, telling viewers not to worry.
"Thinking about our colleagues and all those who are really suffering," Roker tweeted. "And God Bless the health care providers and #FirstResponders helping."
